Doldrums

At least I think that’s what you call the sailing thing where you get becalmed. If I remember rightly, ships could stay there for weeks, without any wind, just hot and bothered.

And that’s kind of how it’s been – I’ve got some odd thing going on where I’m exhausted all the time and have hardly been through the door. It’s very much like being stuck in a tiny boat in the heat, with a sweaty sail draped over your head. Maybe. I’ve never tried that, but it’s how I’ve come to think of it.

I’ve been to the doctor’s, I’ve left an arm-full of blood for them to experiment on, and in the mean time I’m doing my own bit of sleuthing to figure out if things I eat make it better or worse.

But mostly I’m just sick of it, I want to get out there and enjoy the fast-approaching autumn and crack out my head-torch and get out in the dark.

I’m still madly holding onto the idea that I’ll make it to the Simonside Fell Race at the 100th Anniversary Thropton Show. It’s in two days and it’s looking increasingly unlikely, but allow me my little dreams…

Poor you x hope it all clears soon. Really hard to stay cheery when you don’t feel it. Be kind to yourself in the meantime.
